Digital Membrane

In these times of the media technical reflections of life are being condensed into ever more complex membranes. Ever-thinner surfaces are loaded with and provide more and more bits of information. From credit cards to silver coated CD-ROMs and DVD plates; from the thinnest cellular phones to the paper-thin crystal screens of laptops the arrow-like speed of the digital revolution is culminating in the vertiginous depths of planes. Ever-thinner layers enable ever more complex operations. We already have a screen sown into clothes, a prototype for video-jewellery; millimetre-thin notebooks downloaded with the holdings of whole libraries and with TV and Internet functions will be soon on the market.
